THE EVENT IN THE CENTER
AIS
Arctic Circle Raceway facilitates most types of events, and offers teams, associations and various organizers a partnership where the area owner contributes to raising the overall quality of the event. This means that ACR's partners can invest all their resources in organizing registration of participants and ensuring the quality of the sporting event, and thereby strengthen the event's earnings.
AIS consists of various modules that are adapted to the individual event / arrangement.

AIS
Modular package solution for organizers of all kinds
Note: AIS is under planning and is not fully operational. Agreements that Arctic Circle Raceway has entered into for 2021 with established partners are not affected.
And
Most events require long planning as well as an organization that can take care of a number of disciplines. For many organizers, it is demanding to acquire such expertise and retain it throughout the planning and implementation phase. All too often, a small handful of people are left with all the responsibility and unjustifiably large workload. This weakens both earning capacity and financial management.
And
AIS is a module-based concept where organizers can enter into an event partnership and engage a staff of experienced professionals, both for the planning and implementation phase. AIS is primarily associated with events at the Arctic Circle Raceway.
And
Why?
As an arena owner, ACR wants the arena to be associated with successful events, with safe finances and a good legacy among participants and suppliers. We want both the organizer and the arena owner who are left with a financial result that defends the effort, and that it provides a foundation for several events of the same kind.
And
Modules
The modules are organized into six different sections. The different sections are described below. Each section is led by one or more people, depending on the size of the event. The respective organizer can thus direct their resources to organizing registration and carrying out the event's core activity.
And
Section leaders
Every event will need a staff of volunteers who are remunerated in various ways, but the section leaders will be engaged by the Arctic Circle Raceway on an hourly or fixed price basis. This will incur increased costs for the respective event, but the section leaders will work efficiently and with the lowest possible use of resources. This will result in strengthened earnings and financial management for the event.
And
Financial management
Budgeting, accounting and financial management for major events are carried out by further agreement, but shall be characterized by being transparent to both parties. If the gross turnover for events exceeds NOK 1 million, the project / event accounts must be audited by the appointed auditor.
And
Safety
Fundamental to all work in AIS is the Directorate for Civil Protection and the emergency preparedness handbook for major events . At all major public events, a ROS analysis (risk and vulnerability) must be prepared.
And
Price for AIS and use of arena
Arctic Circle Raceway cannot be rented, but can only be used as an arena through an AIS agreement. The cost for the individual organizer depends on a number of parameters such as season, event length, equipment needs and scope. The goal for AIS is to strengthen the organizers' ability to implement and end result.

And
WELL-BEING
The foundation of the event
ACR will establish and strengthen a team of talented people who can host at their fingertips. By building experience from an ever-growing portfolio of partners and events, this important part of an event will be something our partners feel confident in using.
And
Food service
ACR's café and kitchen are central to the food service for participants, team members and volunteers. Especially for those who camp at the arena, the availability of breakfast, lunch and dinner will be of great importance.
Outdoors, fast food should be a quality mark for ACR. Here, local food producers must take precedence.
And
Ceremonies
Whether it is a flower ceremony or award ceremony, the quality and execution of the ceremony will help to lift the event. ACR's organizing staff knows this, and does its utmost to ensure that the individual participant experiences the ceremony as a memorable experience.
And
After race
Whether it's for racing, cycling or a car meeting, the social setting afterwards is what people remember for next year, in five years and in 25 years. A good social framework is enormously important for most events, and ACR will do its utmost to give its event partners a quality they can be proud of - for a long time!
Indoor cleaning and hygiene
Previously, washing and cleaning have been done on a voluntary basis by the individual tenant and organizer. Unfortunately, this resulted in far too variable quality, and some tenants arrived at poorly cleaned premises.
Therefore, ACR itself takes responsibility for all cleaning, which means that hygiene measures and disinfection must also be better taken care of.
And
And
market
Where it all too often fails
ACR will establish and strengthen a team of talented people who know the hosting role at their fingertips. Through experience from an ever-increasing portfolio of partners and events, this important competence will be further developed.
And
Press and information service
Today's media image places ever greater demands on clear messages, and that information is sent at the right time and to the right recipient. Knowledge of this field is almost always crucial for success. ACR must therefore offer its event partners this service, it also includes media management and service at the arena.
And
Marketing work and sponsors
For many organizers, this is an unknown, difficult and demanding task. As an organizer, you can often miss out on valuable income and collaboration agreements. ACR can offer this task to perform for its event partners.
And
Social media and video streaming
Some events are suitable for live streaming online, including via Youtube, and most are suitable for status updates via Facebook and Instagram. Good results and great attention require insight and good equipment. ACR must be able to offer organizer partners such services from a staff that knows the area and its "inner life".
And
Sales of merchandise and event effects
T-shirts, caps and other effects are popular items at many events. But if the articles are to be ready for sale, the task must be taken care of a long time in advance. All sales of such event effects shall take place through ACR's arena shop, where the organizer partner is offered professional customer handling and correct handling of sales and cash settlement.
ACR's store will help strengthen sales and thus event earnings.
And
And
audience
The important but demanding part of the event
Northern Norway's largest event in terms of audience took place at ACR, and how many tens of thousands have visited the arena since 1995 no one knows. What we do know is that the arena is flexible, and that there is easily room for a bouncy tent in one event, and a fun fair the next.
And
Ticket sales and admission
The public contributes valuable income for the event, and blind passengers are a pure loss. Effective guarding and management of public traffic is crucial for the organizers' income to be secured.
And
If ACR's organizing partner wants ticket sales, it must follow ACR's limits for admission and parking. All ticket sales and security are performed by ACR's crews.
And
In many cases, the public must be kept on the outer track and denied access through the culvert. Then the audience must meet an area prepared and secured.
And
As important as safety is cleaning. ACR's crews must ensure that waste containers are emptied at regular intervals,
And
Parking and security
ACR divides the parking into two zones: upper and lower. The lower zone is from Ørtfjellvegen and up to the crossing dog trail. It is free to park in the lower part.
And
Driving to the upper part costs NOK 100 per car. Sales of parking and instructions are carried out by ACR's crews, who also ensure that emergency vehicles are given passage and first priority. All parked cars must have a parking ticket lying for inspection on the driver's side of the dashboard.
And
Public parking of motorhomes must take place at a designated place during the event. Price for motorhome is DKK 250.
And
Cars that are accredited for driving to the parking depot will be marked with their own decals in the windscreen.
And
And
crew
The event's most important resource
It does not run one meter, and no one gets on the prize podium regardless of vehicle, unless track crews and other crew are in place, trained, skilled and engaged. Lunch that is not ready for a set break in the program creates a chain reaction in the rest of today's businesses. An overfilled waste container does not pose a risk to either performers or the public, but it helps to lower the overall impression of the event.
And
Therefore, ACR prioritises establishing a crew that understands its task, that is rewarded and honored for its efforts, and that gets to be part of a rare and good community.
And
ACR's recruitment must be inclusive, and we must have a conscious goal of recruiting a bouquet of both sexes, different ages, ethnic backgrounds and other positive characteristics. Not because we want to be politically correct, but because it strengthens the team and we reach our goals of well-conducted events.
And
This could be loose words, but it should be the core of our business. The joy of being a crew at ACR should be as great as for those who are participants in the event.
And
Recruitment and training
The recruitment of crews takes place primarily in Rana municipality, but also crews from other places in the region and the country in general, are warmly welcome to become part of our team. Thus, our organizing partners can trust that their event is taken care of in the very best way.
And
The training will be aimed at the task the individual has been assigned. As far as possible we will follow the individual wish.
And
The introductory part of the training consists of a general basic course that addresses the arena's different qualities and infrastructure, ACR's vision and objectives. Other training takes place according to a plan where you as a course crew start at level C and can end up as post manager with level A. Fire and sanitation will have their own courses. Common to all training is that the crew should be able to handle a ski race as well as a road racing race.
And
Accreditation and access control
The crew section is also responsible for accreditation of participants, teams, guests and VIPs. This will of course vary greatly from event to event, but those responsible must know the system and offer the organizers a first-class service.
And
VIP management
The responsibility for receiving VIPs and ensuring their well-being during the visit has been added to this section. Our organizing partners must thus know that their special guests are in the best hands.
arena
Everything can fail! We know this from experience.
ACR is characterized by 25 years of operation. and parts of the arena are very worn. ACR has ambitions to make up for much of the maintenance backlog, but it will take time. For the 2021 season, we emphasize wardrobe and toilet facilities in the parking depot, as well as securing electricity supply to team tents and mobile housing units.
Even if the preparations are the very best, things can fail, and often they fail when you least expect it, - Murphy's law of 1949. Therefore, ACR ensures to the best of its ability to have an electrician, plumber and IT manager on call during any arrangement.
And
Toilet capacity
In the parking depot's cloakroom building, there are fifteen men's toilets adjacent to the shower facility, and correspondingly six toilets for women.
And
In the same building there are two toilets for wheelchairs, but the entrance to the built hair poor universal design.
And
In the main building it is easier for wheelchair access, and an HC on the first and second floor. In addition, there are three toilets on each of the floors.
And
Fire safety
Both buildings and each of the floors in the main building have marked fire hoses, but due to a pump breakdown, the capacity for firefighting with water is temporarily limited.
The arena is therefore secured with a significant number of powder devices.
During all race and track days, all participants must bring a minimum of one 6 kg fire extinguisher as emergency preparedness for their own team and tent.
And
Power supply in parking depot
Text is missing
And
Waste management
Some events run over several days and with many people involved it can involve significant amounts of waste. In the arena there are several closed steel containers, and several smaller plastic containers with lids and wheels. ACR's crews ensure that waste is disposed of when needed.
And
Requirements for clean-up
All participants and users of the arena must clean up the areas where they have been located. The respective event partner must ensure that all participants are made aware of the requirement, and ensure that this is followed.
And
Otherwise, the arena's environmental requirements apply .

Maybe it's you ...?
Arctic Circle Raceway is a 3.7 long asphalt track primarily built and best known for motorsport. In motorsport environments, the track is legendary, both because it is the northernmost of its kind in the world, but also because of its layout and fantastic track surface.
And
In addition to the "raceway", the arena and its technical infrastructure are located in scenic surroundings in the Dunderlandsdalen, we like to call this area the Dunderland Arena. The location and not least the absence of other road traffic, allows for a number of forms of sports events, and creatively we envision:
And
Cross-country skiing
Ski orienteering
Paragliding
Cycling
Mountain biking
Roller skis
Marathon
Road race for the visually impaired with a companion
Race
Cross-country running
Orienteering race
Dog sledding
And
The arena can also be used for more than sports and competitions. The parking depot can be used alone, or in combination with the use of the track, possibly only our meeting rooms.
Here we can imagine:
And
MC-treff
Car exhibitions
Driver development course
Snowmobile training
Concerts and festivals
Trade days for employees in the emergency services
Courses for avalanche search and dogs
Trade fairs and sales exhibitions
Courses and conferences
And
If you see a potential for adding an event to the arena, we would love to hear from you. By entering into an AIS agreement, your organization does not have to be large if the potential is greater.
